Turning Managers into Coaches
Manager as Leader & Coach Workshops
These one-day workshops focus on leadership styles, which either enhances managers’ efforts to motivate their staff and to get improved results.
Numbers are limited to 12 -15 people per workshop depending on the focus and profiling tools being used.
The following areas are presented during each workshop session:
- Key leadership skills and behaviours that managers need to adopt to be highly effective.
- Illustrate the practical application of the leadership skills, specificallyof what great bosses do and what they don't do to get the best results
- Demonstrate and practise specific communication techniques.
- Each participant prepares a personal action plan for themselves and/or their staff
- Provde and discuss a follow-up method for participants to use to ensure sustainability of their new skills and action plans.
Group Coaching
What is Group Coaching and why do it ?
Group coaching is a management tool to build cohesiveness, teamwork and improved decision-making of a group of executives, typically conducted over a three-month development program period. It is designed to support the development of effective leader/manager behaviours - introduced and practised.
The purposes of Group Coaching
- The participants work on particular challenges and issues that are standing in the way of progress and success.
- To introduce increased leadership coaching skills to coach their staff by practising in the group first, then trying it out with their staff, then coming back to the group with results and experiences.
- Sustainability of new ways of doing things in the executive group.
- Transfer of skills to other managers and the Human Resources staff to do more group coaching further down through the organisation.
-
Some typical results we want to achieve from our Group Coaching:
- It improved the way we make decisions and the way we get things done.
- We openly discuss issues which were holding us back and/or getting in the way.
- It changed the way we think about and talk about solving issues and problems.
- We now send straight and clear messages to others in a charged way, messages that land with clout!
- We achieve more things on the ground in our daily work.
The deliverables from such a suggested program would be to:
- Expand the sense of possibilities for the senior managers to shape their role within their specific environment.
- Increase the self-awareness and confidence of participants.
- Develop coaching behaviours for the senior managers.
- Create a group of leaders with new perspectives, sensitivity and collective wisdom.
The challenge for managers is to continuously reshape their role to grow on the job, to leverage their effectiveness at this level, to manage up and down, and to deal with the particular demands of their position.
Group Coaching provides a place for these leaders to speak about their immediate situation in an environment of confidentiality, to hear perspectives from colleagues, to have learning conversations, to be coached on framework issues and challenges, and above all, to experience the synergy of developing together. The coach is there to act as a resource and to provide support with structure to help the executive’s progress towards their desired outcomes. The coach also models skills and coaching presence.
In order for group coaching to work, it is essential that the senior managers who agree to being involved in the program are ready, willing and able to be coached. We need to establish at the outset that they have the time, enthusiasm, action orientation and support necessary to make it work and be available over the timeframe agreed upon at the outset.
Group Business Creative Workshops
These days, the greatest asset of almost any business is its people, and if you can tap into all they have to offer, rather than just their technical training and skills, you’ll be ahead of the game.
Creativity at work doesn’t mean displays of artistic temperament or impractical ideas - it means having access to ingenuity, problem solving and useful solutions that you may not be soliciting from you workforce right now. Everyone is innately creative, and you can train your staff to use that creativity to your benefit, and theirs.
THE WORKSHOPS
Workshops are tailored to give you an outcome that will benefit both the individual and the organisation.
The program content and the duration of the workshops vary...we can provide you with a half day to a one-day program incorporating a range of topics designed to stimulate creative solutions to any corporate dilemma.
Tap into the latest ideas in positive psychology. The way that your people think impacts the way they perform.
Your business is dependent upon innovation. Learn how to open the channels of creative thinking to transform the way you do business.
Give your business an edge by challenging your staff to think laterally, to broaden their problem solving ability and to generate new ideas.

The Five Quantum "I's"
One of our core approaches is what we call "The Five Quantum I's" - identify, involve, innovate, intergrate and implement. It's simple, effective and a great place to start.
- Identify your needs and wants
- Involve you and your organisation as appropriate
- Innovate by developing creative solutions - other ways of looking at it
- Intergrate your goals within your teams
- Implement an agreed course of actions and monitor progress to a successful outcome.
The process of business progression is more exacting today than ever before. You must have an edge over the competition, whether you are endeavouring to grow your business further, considering a career change, developing your team or needing some professional development of your own. It's important to remember that you are in fact a business entity in your own right - an entity to be marketed and sold.
Strengthen your focus, acquire a clearer view of where you want to be in the future and put you in the position you deserve.
Success in business requires active governance, effective leadership and management, as well as optimisation of individual performances within a framework of shared vision and values.
Ensuring that organisational culture is as distinctive and consistent as a suite of well-designed stationery is a challenge most companies have yet to conquer.
Some would say it is the greatest mistake of all to do nothing – because you can only do little. But first you must know to which direction you are headed, so you can catch the right wind to get you there.
